Our bee colonies are in Pfullingen in the Arbachtal in the Echazauen and on the Sulzbach, in the Swabian Alb biosphere area, in the midst of wonderful orchards. The bees will find sufficient nectar and pollen here for fruit and dandelion blooms. Unfortunately, the meadows are mowed earlier and earlier from year to year and so it is not uncommon for the first mowing of the year to take place when the dandelion is in bloom. From this point on, the bees can no longer find enough nectar. Therefore, the traditional costume is followed from this point on. First it goes up to the Alb, where the dandelions are still in full bloom. This is followed by rapeseed in the Oberland and then, in some years, by the forest costume in the Black Forest.
